‘Make them smile”, a Charity event with the objective to put a smile of the faces of orphans and vulnerable children

“It is in your hands to make of the world a better place” Nelson Mandela

We are very excited to have finally achieved our project titled ‘make them smile”, a one day charity event with the objective to put a smile of the faces of orphans and vulnerable children at the Reception center for children in distress of Yaoundé.

This initiative is in prelude to the celebration of Nelson Mandela day, on 18 July — the day Nelson Mandela was born---in recognition of the former South African President’s contribution to the culture of peace and freedom.

We spent the day with the children, caring, feeding the newborns, development of children.

We are very grateful for the support of the US Embassy in Yaoundé, and I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the US Embassy Yaoundé for their generous support through the hundreds of brand new books they have provided to feed the minds and souls of the kids, playing such an important role in making this event come to life.

I would also like to thank the contributors, who despite their busy schedule have found the time to volunteer. The gift of your time is very precious. Through your generosity dedication, enthusiasm and positive attitude we were able to have a successful and enjoyable event.
At the end of the event many requests were made including support with medicines, clothing, hospital fees for patient in need of surgery. All these information will help us to better prepare the second edition of “make them smile”.

Everyone has the ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better, and Mandela Day is an occasion for everyone to take action and inspire change.
