Doctor, Public Health Expert, Author, Speaker



Dr. Adidja Amani’s passion revolves around smart investment and people centered approaches to development. She is an advocate for women and children issues with extensive experience and diverse responsibilities in the national and international sphere.
Dr. Amani is the author of the book titled, The Health Workers Crises In Cameroon and her second book on ‘the Cameroonian health policy” is under review for publication.  She has also authored several technical reports and lectured on public health both in Cameroon, in Brazil and in the US.
She successively worked as a physiciam  at the Douala General Hospital, then as a researcher at the Global Aids Program of the Center for Diseases Control in Atlanta, USA. Upon her return in Cameroon, she worked as the technical advisor of the Human resources department of the Ministry of Public health. She has worked in the private sector as a Program Manager for Africa where she oversaw the health workforce development in 23 African countries. She is well travelled and has visited over 40 countries in five continents.
She currently heads the newborn and child health services at the Ministry of Public Health and works in parallel as a consultant for many international organizations including the World Health Organization.  She served on advisory boards both nationally and internationally.
Adidja holds a Doctorate of Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Yaoundé I and a Master of Public Health with a concentration in health policy and management from from Georgia School of Public Health in Atlanta (USA).  She is a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Excellence awards, the Fulbright, the Mandela Washington Fellowship/YALI, and the Weston award. She also holds several certificates in health system strengthening, financing, governance, and leadership.
She carried out of volunteering in her community: Due to her unbridled enthusiasm for self-development and empowerment, she is frequently invited as a speaker to inspirational seminars and leadership conferences. She is a founder of an association dedicated to advancing women and girl’s empowerment.
 Dr Adidja AMANI, is member of several professional associations including the Global Health Workforce Alliance, the Research Group on Human Resources for Health, the Cameroon Women Medical Association, the Cameroon Medical Council, The Fulbright Alumni Association and the  Higher Institute for Growth in Health Research for Women Researchers.
Although she has only a basic level in Spanish and Japanese, she is fluent in French, English, Fufuldé and Guidar.
